Equipment

  • Bowl
  • Mixer

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg (room temperature)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2/3 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to the temperature specified in the brownie mix box.
  • Grease a baking dish or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  • Prepare the brownie mix according to the package instructions.
  • Add in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and stir until they are evenly distributed throughout the batter.
  • In a separate mixing bowl, create the pumpkin batter. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth using an electric mixer. Gradually add in the granulated sugar, egg, vanilla extract, pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until well combined.
  • Pour about two-thirds of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish, spreading it out evenly. Reserve the remaining brownie batter for later. Now, it's time to layer on the pumpkin goodness! Spoon the pumpkin batter over the brownie batter, spreading it out gently to create an even layer. Take the reserved brownie batter and drop spoonfuls over the pumpkin layer.
  • Use a butter knife or toothpick to gently swirl the brownie and pumpkin batters together, creating a marbled effect. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for the time specified on the brownie mix box. Keep a close eye on the brownies and perform the toothpick test - if it comes out with a few moist crumbs, they're ready.
  • Once baked to perfection, remove the pumpkin brownies from the oven and let them cool in the baking dish for a few minutes. This will allow the flavors to meld and the brownies to set.Cut the brownies into squares or rectangles, and prepare to indulge in pure fall bliss.
