What are Overnight Oatmeal Parfaits?
If you’re like me then you love eating breakfast like Cinnamon French toast, pancakes, bacon, and eggs, But sometimes its gets old and you just want something different.
Overnight oats are a healthy, easy and delicious way to start your day. The basic idea is that you mix together the ingredients for your oatmeal in a mason jar or other container the night before, then let it sit in the fridge overnight so all of those good ingredients can soak up some moisture and soften up a bit. When you wake up in the morning, there’s nothing left to do but grab your jar or container, give it a stir and eat!
Overnight oats are especially great if you have limited time at home in the morning since they require no cooking whatsoever–just stirring! They’re also good when you want something filling but healthy for breakfast (or lunch!). And because overnight oats make use of ingredients like rolled oats and Greek yogurt instead of refined sugar or buttery cream sauces like most other quick-fix breakfast foods do, they’ll leave you feeling fuller longer than most traditional hot cereals will without sacrificing flavor either: just look at all those berries!
Health Benefits of Overnight Oats
Overnight oats are a delicious, easy way to start your day. They’re also a great source of fiber and protein, which help keep you feeling full for longer.
- Oats: A healthy whole grain that has been shown to improve cholesterol levels and lower risk factors for heart disease. In addition, oats have been linked with reduced risk of cancer in some studies because they contain antioxidants called avenanthramides that appear to reduce inflammation in the body.*
- Greek yogurt: Yogurt contains probiotics (good bacteria) that help maintain digestive health by balancing out good vs bad bacteria levels in the gut.*
- Blueberries: Blueberries are rich in antioxidants called anthocyanins which may help protect against certain cancers like lung cancer as well as other diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease.*
- Maple Syrup: Perfect for some added sweetness without the added sugar (and calories) found in many store-bought brands. Maple syrup is high in antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation and lower your risk for heart disease and certain cancers.

Tips & Tricks
- Make sure to use the right type of oats. The best option is rolled oats, which have a creamy texture and are easy to work with.
- You can add any fruit to the parfait. It’s a good idea to choose one that’s in season, but if you’re not sure what’s available where you live or what tastes good together, try out different combinations until you find something that works for your palate!
- Add a scoop of protein powder to the oats. It’s a great way to add some extra protein, but keep in mind that it will make your oatmeal thicker and creamier than usual.
